David Shmuel is an American poker player best known for winning the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. Shmuel came out on top of a field of 910 to bank $205,333 and his first gold bracelet.
Shmuel has live cashes dating back to April 2011. His first five-figure haul came in April 2016 when he finished 17th in the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $34,124. That remained his best score until he collected $76,000 for a third-place finish in a $600 No-Limit Hold 'em event in January 2024. Shmuel helped himself to a new career-high $174,734 in July 2023 after finishing third in a $400 buy-in event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. He finished fourth in the same event a year later for another $124,476.
At the 2025 WSOP, Shmuel won the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo event for his first bracelet and a new career-best $205,333.
